Kinder Egg Poster Demo
The 'Other Story Of Your Food' segment of my portfolio looked into Kinder Eggs, a choice inspired by their unique position at the intersection of food, toy, and cultural phenomenon. For this section we were required to answer "How design can _____”. The task began with a research phase, and I sought out to find the answer for, 'How can design make items safe?' Answering this led to the creation of an interactive poster using p5.js.
Pong Game Inspired By Album Demo (warning sound)
The second project I chose to present was a task to reinterpret a classic Pong game inspired by an album cover art. I selected 'Flower Boy' by Tyler, The Creator as my muse. The 'Flower Boy' album art, known for its vivid colours and intricate details, depicts Tyler in a surreal, flower-filled landscape, symbolising growth, transformation, and a journey into the self. I extracted a colour palette directly from the album cover and used and coded the clouds to move slowly across the screen while the game was being played. Additionally I added a song from the album to complete the game.
Snake Game Demo (warning sound)
For my final project, I chose to code a video game taking advantage of the freedom to code a retro game of my choice. I decided on reinventing the classic Snake game, a favourite pastime from my younger years. In my version, I introduced another element, the arcade-style background music accelerates in tempo as the snake grows in length and the player's score escalates.
